Braindump on building the VMware Player image:

  • stock ubuntu 8.04 (jeos is ok) install
  • apt-get update+upgrade
  • run get.openpanel.com normally
  • set openadmin password via opencli
  • remove udev eth0 renaming crap (/etc/udev.d/rules/70something and 75something i think)
  • add informational message to rc.local
