OpenApp and Upgrades

From Openpanel Documentation Wiki
Jump to: navigation, search

OpenApp has mod-cron-apt to make it easy to keep your system up to date. When enabled, it runs apt-get update and apt-get dist-upgrade every night. You can enable it by checking the checkbox in the 'Upgrades'-tab. By default, it is enabled.

It will email the outcome of every run to the root-user. Which you can forward to your own address by entering a valid Administrator address in the 'SMTP Relay Settings'-tab.

If you do not want your machine to upgrade automatically, just uncheck the checkbox.

Please note that some software installed with OpenApp (eg Wordpress) will not be upgraded via the apt-get system.
